Sequence diagram voodoo?

January 15th, 2008

Every once in a while I forget how to do something in UML. InformIT have a great guide on the use of the notation just for this purpose. Nice.

Hi Jake,

Here’s another one you might like :
A quick introduction to UML sequence diagrams

If you’re looking for an easy to use and smart UML sequence diagram editor, why not try my Trace Modeler?

If you’re in a hurry, here’s a 30 sec demo of Trace Modeler in action.

Let me know what you think of it, I’m always happy to get feedback!

Best regards,
Yanic

Thanks Yanic. I checked out your product and it looks pretty good. I think it is going in the right direction, but I wouldn’t use it myself. Sequence diagrams to me are only really one aspect of a design, much as a floor plan only partly describes a building.

To fully explain intent, I would use a combination of interaction and structure diagrams. To those ends I prefer Visio, even if it’s not as nice to work with. Hence the post. Visio is only a drawing tool and does nothing to assist with the corner cases of UML usage.
